An empty community music hall stage lit warm for a country tribute night

Produced by Gold Digger Records

Dolly Day SF

We love Dolly. We love this city. Putting the two in the same room felt less like an idea and more like something that was already supposed to exist — so we're producing it.

Why Dolly, why here

Music is the universal language that binds us all.

Dolly Parton has spent a lifetime writing songs that reach people who agree on almost nothing else. She's funny, she's generous, she's tougher than the industry that underestimated her, and she has never once made anybody feel small for where they came from. That's a pretty good blueprint for a day of music.

Dolly Day SF is for the San Francisco music community and for the greater community around it — the people who play, the people who show up, and the people who just needed somewhere warm to be on a weekend. Expect live sets, singalongs, records spinning between bands, rhinestones strongly encouraged and absolutely not required.

What the day stands for

Three things we won't budge on

A room for everyone

All ages where we can, all people always. Queer, trans, immigrant, disabled, young, old, country-curious — the door is the same door.

Music as common ground

Dolly's songs travel across every line people try to draw. That's the whole thesis of the day: the universal language, sung loud, together.

Community first

Local musicians, local vendors, local crews. We'd rather build something San Francisco keeps than something that plays once and leaves.

Where we stand

Inclusive, anti-fascist, anti-racist. Zero tolerance for hate or discrimination.

We stand with all marginalized groups — Black, Indigenous and people of color; queer and trans people; immigrants; disabled people; and everyone else routinely told a room isn't for them. At Dolly Day SF, in the shop, at our pop-ups and in your living room, harassment and bigotry get you shown the door immediately, no debate and no second chance. Everyone else: come as you are, and bring somebody with you.
